As of 2001, I wrote:
"At this time, it has been found that the skull is over 900 years old, its DNA is very degraded, it seems to be male and at least testable parts of the DNA are human."
"The "Starchild Project" did not raise suficient funding to continue the investigation at this time. Please remember that the DNA of a human and of a chimpanzee are 99% identical."
Update of June 2003:
Genetic analysis has finally been made thanks to the funding gathered by Lloyd Pye. The analysis have revealed that this cranium is entirely human as for its genes.
Dunque in pratica dice che il teschio ha circa 900 anni e che il DNA (come comprensibile) è piuttosto degradato. Però già nel 2001 si era arrivati a capire che era un teschio di un essere di sesso maschile. A questo punto (guarda caso) l'organo indipendente "Starchild Project" ammette di non avere abbastanza fondi per continuare le ricerche e ci prega di ricordare che il DNA dell'uomo e dello scimpanzè sono al 99% simili (come se dimostrasse qualcosa... il nostro DNA è piuttosto simile anche a quello dei topi!)
E infatti nel 2003 arriva la notizia che le analisi hanno provato che il cranio è interamente umano, analizzando i geni. Direi che è un caso più che chiuso.
