The mystery of the circle in the Baltic Sea can be closer to a solution.

But it is not a ufo, but about nazitraps for Soviet submarines from World War II.

The Mysterious circle in the Baltic Sea has become a worldnews.

The circle was found by the treasure hunters Ocean X Team a year ago and the media from all over the world have speculated on how it ended up there.

A few days ago, Expressen swedish newspaper showed tv-pictures of the circle.

Should stop submarines

Former submarine officer and now treasure Finder, Anders Autellus, 55, from Halmstad gave us a call when he heard that.

Autellus, with the famous Dalarö wreck and the recorded sounds from the submarine Hårsfjärden 1982 on his cv, believe that the circle could be a so-called double concrete casting, where the German nazitroops drew up a huge steelnet to prevent the progression of Soviet submarines in the Gulf of Finland-a technology that was also used by the English forces.

The steelnets must have ben desintegreated by oxid and the atachments are believed to represent the holes visible on the Expressen film.

-It has been a lot of ruomors and strange ideas that has circulated here and there, rather than be based on pure facts, says Autellus.

Layers on layers

Stefan Hogeborn, one of Ocean X Teams divers:

-The subject appears to be cast in layers on layers. It is a very usual thing because the circle is located just at a navigable channel.

Lolo Westerman on Titan productions, who are making a documentary about the circle, want to wait for more dives.

"It is a theory as good as anybody," she says.
